Seikoh 1 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 (edited) So my server has been up and running for a few years now. I have never had any issues connecting to it either remotely or on the local network. Currently my phone, my Chromebook, my computer and all three TVs in the house connect fine. Obviously those are LAN. My phone connects remotely as does my sister's TV who lives on the other side of town. The only device that won't connect is my girlfriend's Google pixel 8. My phone is a pixel 9. I've tried the entire troubleshooting guide as well as connecting hers through the Emby connect email, inputting the IP and port in the app, and going directly to the IP address/port in the Chrome browser. The only way she can connect is when she's on Wi-Fi at home. Does anyone have any ideas why this specific device would be the only thing that can't connect to the server remotely? Neminem 1561 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Is she using an VPN service when on Cell network. Or some adblocker.
Seikoh 1 Posted February 18 Author Posted February 18 (edited) No. We're both on Google Fi also. The only difference is she is using a virtual sim. Sorry being late in replying I do appreciate any help Edited February 18 by Seikoh
Seikoh 1 Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 Nothing I have tried has worked. All settings match between our phones when I test off network. The only two differences I can find are the models and the fact she's on a virtual SIM. I saw some references to eSIMs causing some server authentication problems. Still trying to look into that since it's not Emby specific.
Seikoh 1 Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 (edited) I double checked with her daughter's phone doing a direct connection through Chrome and using the app. Can't connect with that either. She also uses a virtual SIM. I can connect using their hotspots with my Chromebook. Edited February 22 by Seikoh
Luke 42114 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Could her ISP be blocking access to your remote ip address?
