Emby doesn't keep the TV up anymore

Emby Server: 4.9.3.0 on Windows 10 (Premier)

Emby Client: BRAVIA 8, Emby for Android 3.5.28

 

The issue:

Emby, while playing music, doesn't prevent the TV from sleeping after a period of time set in the TV. It wasn't happening before in earlier versions.

I didn't test while watching Live TV, or Movie. But when I'm working at home, and I play music on my TV as a background noise, the TV sleeps after some time, and I have to turn on the TV again, open the Emby app, and play again.

Same here.... music  playng on Emby isn't recognised as an 'awake event' on my Google TV Streamer who then starts a screensaver after predefined amount of time and turns off audio completely. After few minutes of running a screensaver, Streamer shuts down and turns off the TV... as if Emby app wasn't active at all.

The same, of course, does not happen while video content is playing. It's only audio playback on Emby that isn't detected as an ongoing activity on the device.

Are all the bugs being tracked by the development team?

Is there an estimated timeline for fixing this issue?

This issue is still present in version 4.10.0.40 (Emby Android 3.5.55). The only workaround I found is using Emby for web on the TV.

I've only noticed this issue in Emby for Android TV (tested with versions 3.5.28 and 3.5.55) while playing music.

The workaround I mentioned is to open Emby in a web browser on the TV. When using the browser, the TV doesn't turn off after some time.

Hi.  That's not Emby for Android TV.  That is Emby for Android.  Until this is addressed in that app, you could try installing "Emby for Android TV" from the store.

You're right @ebr. It's "Emby for Android" on an Android TV.
