If I had to guess, this was only tested on the latest iPads?  With the latest iOS.  And this issue affects just the older iPads and older iOS.  Surely it cat be all iPads or that’s a major testing issue.
 

im just back from another 1 hour drive dropping an old windows laptop to the aging mother in law so she can continue her watching.

I didn't think of this, but in my use case, you're right. I'm using a 5th gen iPad with OS version 16.7, which Emby always worked on until that update.

Got the new 2.2.50 version and all back to normal now. Thanks
