Emby memory consumption on TS-453D

Hi: would like to ask what is expected memory consumption running emby? My installation starts with 500mb, but after a few hours it hits 3-4GB. I’d like to reduce the memory consumption, however don’t know what’s consuming the memory. This memory increase happens with no active stream playing, and I never use transcode (all local direct play), so emby is esentilly a meta data server for me. Not sure why it needs such big amount of memory, does it cache something in memory? Many thanks

Hi, I'm not reporting this as an issue with Emby, and I'm just trying to understand how it works and find a workaround for my situation.

I have to be very careful with my memory usage on my QNAP NAS, it only has 16GB and now it's above 80%. So I'm looking into ways to bring down the memory consumption of Emby.

What I discovered is the Home Assistant integration (https://github.com/troykelly/homeassistant-emby) is causing the high memory usage.

The integration tries to pull the Emby libraray into Home Assistant. Since I have some really big music video and personal photos libraray, could that contribute to the memory usage increase? Does Emby for some reason cache the metadata about library when requested by third party inegration?

The API key seems only for authentication so I can't choose which library to expose to Home Assistant, is there a way that I can temperorily disable some libraries to confirm my assumption is correct?

Many thanks for your help!
