Enable subtitles in emby server

As you can see from the screenshot, your video doesn't have any subtitles. Are you aware of this? You can add external subtitle files by following:

Subtitles Naming

Or download subtitles manually inside Emby :

Or setup automatic subtitle downloading:

Thanks again, but when I click on the 3 dots , then search, it returns: No results found. Have you configured subtitle downloading?

I click the said link, but that just takes me back to the Manual Subtitle Downloads page.

What else do I need to do

And did you read it? If you're not getting any results it will help you. It goes over things to try and check.

Yes I read this:

Before being able to setup downloading of subtitles you will need to setup a plugin such as Open Subtitles. Please make sure you have configured your plugin before continuing.

I have Open Subtitles installed and have it configured, I think?? To configure, does that mean to have what the screenshot shows

@Robgh yes and then it goes over what to do when you don’t get any subtitle search results. Did you go through that?

It says this when i9t can't find any subtitles:
if you do not see any subtitle appear for download (as above) then that would mean that Emby could not find any subtitles that match your criteria. You can try and change any options you set or possibly try to search for "English" subtitles (if not already). Some movies will not have subtitles available.

But according this screenshot , does it mean there is or are subtitles or have I got that wrong:

That looks like you haven't clicked search yet. Did you check the external ids like the guide suggests? What did you find  there?

I did click search and it says:

No results found. Have you configured subtitle downloading? So how do I do that as I don't know where to look to do that

Your OpenSubtitles credentials are not configured correctly. Make sure you're registered with opensubtitles.com and not .org and that you use your username and not email in plugin config.

So what happens now or what do I do next please

Same procedure, config plugin and try to search for/download subs; if it fails again, post server log.

One thing I have noticed is that when I select opensubtitles in emby, my password , which is unreadable, has changed from what I used on the opensubtitles.com.

I changed my password to login, because I don't know what it is in emby, as it is 18 asterisks, which means nothing to me, and now I can't login to opensubtitles unless i change the password again. If I do that , then it will be changed back to what it is  in emby??

I honestly didn't get what you're saying here and I'm unclear where you're failing.

Ok I'll try and be a bit more clear.

When I initially installed the open subtitles plugin, I was asked to provide a username and the password was automatically added.

But as I could not read the said password, I then created my own.

Anyway, to cut it short, I have tried to register again using the supplied username and password , but when I have to enter the password again in the adjacent box, it says they don't match. 

I am on the verge of giving up with all this now because no matter what I do, doesn't work.

Ok, I managed to change my password for opensubtitles.com, and logged in ok.

So I then changed the 18 asterisks password in the emby subtitles settings to the new one I logged into opensubsitles.com with. Then I selected another item in the menu before checking back on opensubtitles settings again. Now the password has changed back to 18 asterisks again. ! What was the point of changing password etc.
