Artist Images for Multiple Artists

Hi!

Emby easily recognizes my folder.jpg structure for Artist Images, but I have a few artist that are part of an album for which there's no other music.

Let's say the album "Jim Hall & Charlie Haden", that has "Jim Hall; Charlie Haden" in the Album Artist and it's in the Jim Hall folder. I get Jim's picture fine, but how do I get Emby to use my own image for Charlie Haden? I tried creating a Charlie Haden folder with his folder.jpg but no music (i don't have any music of him as a leader in my library right now) but Emby still fetches an online image. Any solution for this?

Many thanks!

Hi, have you tried editing the Primary artist image directly via Edit Images. You can navigate to this in various ways - here is one way:

image.thumb.png.575d4f1472a490ccea4f1832a37f5332.png

image.thumb.png.d63607e03749000ef616102adcc025c3.png

Emby should then store your selected image in your server folder at:

(yourserverfolder)>programdata>metadata>musicartists>(yourartistfolder)>folder.jpg

Hi, many thanks for the reply. I am aware of that workaround, I would just like for Emby do that automatically as it does to the regular folder.jpg files, saving me the editing hassle :)

Hi, what’s the name of the artist folder, and what are the artist names on the track?

Yeah, that's the secret. It's on Jim Hall's folder, and the artist on the FLACs is "Jim Hall; Charlie Haden". In order for Charlie Haden to appear with the right picture I have to put the music on his folder and change the FLAC names to "Charlie Haden; Jim Hall". In this case it's fine because I have other Jim Hall records but there's a few cases that I only have one album for Arttist A and Artist B and if I change the music to Artist B and the order of the FLAC names I loose Artist A... Thanks for the help!

Right now I think that's just a necessary requirement in order to make sure the right images are used for each artist.
