Hi

I accidentally deleted some music files without realising it. Then my unwise automated backup deleted them from that too. And my pcloud drive.

I still have them all backed up on another service (ibroadcast) but they can't be compared with my emby library easily.

I have recovered some and realised that at the time they were deleted, they were marked as favourites. And when I add them back to Emby they are still marked as favourites.

So my question. Somewhere in the database is there a record of Albums that are favourites that no longer exist? And if so, is there a way of extracting that information?

Many thanks.

While I can't comment on how to extract that information from the database right now as I don't know exactly where it exists, I know it exists somewhere as I have noticed items I removed and added back later still appear in favorites as well.

I would suggest making a copy of Emby's database files (make sure server is shut down) and use an sqlite browser software such as https://sqlitebrowser.org to find what you're looking for

Also I would suggest storing incremental backups as well. Your current backup solution isn't much of a backup if local changes overwrite remote changes and you have no way to go back to old backups. Personally I backup daily and keep the last 3 weeks of backups and then a couple monthly.

Depending on how long ago it happened you could look through the Emby server log to find entries where it removed the items that were deleted. Item type, name and path should be in the log.

When you have done that setup something like Radarr and Sonarr.

If you accidentally happen to do this again.

You can then use those tools to see what's missing.

It turns out I only deleted the files, not the directories so I could search for ones with no flac files.

Thanks for all the help :)
