Betonhaus 18 Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Generally from what I've seen there are basically three types of devices: 1. ones that handle anything (computer running Emby client) 2. ones that have the CPU power but not the codecs (web browsers) 3. ones that have the codecs but not the CPU power (Google TV sticks, Roku) 1 can handle pretty much anything, 2, will refuse to play anything that isn't properly converted, but will handle even the most complex subtitles fine. 3. can play almost anything, but will really struggle with rendering subtitles and will become a slideshow on anime when overlaying translations over japanese text. Right now I can ahve things play well in a web browser, or play well on a Google Tv, but not both at the same time would it be possible to set up different transcoding profiles to be used for different devices automatically? like one for the official apps, one for clients on low end hardware, and one for browsers?
Luke 42077 Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Hi, there isn't anything universal on the server, but many Emby apps have some amount of settings to help control variables like these.
