Issues casting to Chromecast from Windows 11

Good afternoon,

I have a Win 11 machine that has both Chrome and Edge installed just for casting.

Emby is on a Synology with a SSL on both the Synology and the PFX#12 defined in Emby.

I'm casting to a Chromecast Gen 2.

When casting from Emby on Android, it works fine and the controls work as expected.

However, when attempting to cast from Emby on Chrome or Edge I get the Emby logo on the TV and the Ready To Cast Message but when Playing the Emby video, all I get on the TV is a spinning circle. There is no reverse proxy defined.

Emby hardware transcoding is on, but I don't think it's needed for MKV to a Chromecast.

Anything I can try to get this working?

Thanks.

Are you behind a VPN?

No VPN and there is no external access. Everything is on the local 192 subnet.

Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

This is a smaller log from a test I did a few minutes ago on a different Win 11 machine using Edge.

It's working! I decided to try a reverse proxy to take https://subdomain.domain.com and send it to https://localhost:8920. I also set Secure Connection Mode to Handled by reverse proxy.

Out on my DNS host I have an A record for subdomain.domain.com that returns the 192.168... address which is the address for the Synology Emby server.

It's a beautiful thing.

However, I don't really have a need for Chromecast since I use Emby Roku on our TVs. I just dont like things that should work, but don't.
