Slightly annoying Playlist issue.

For a couple of versions there has been a problem where if you delete multiple items from a playlist then the list will scroll back to the top. Not a problem on a ten item playlist but it can be frustrating if you are trying to delete fifty random items from a five hundred item playlist.

I like to make huge playlists and put them on shuffle as my daily watching / listening. We all know that no shuffle algorithms are truly random so I delete items from my lists after they've played. Otherwise I keep getting the same things coming up all the time. A few years ago I suggested and option to either sort or filter playlists by played state but it doesn't look that that is happening so is there any chance we can just stop playlists skipping back to the top after multiple deletions, please?

Cheers!

Hi, what screen are you doing this from?

It's the playlist screen on Chrome. If I select all the played items and then click to remove them from the playlist then it will scroll back to the top.

It never used to do this until the last few months.

Hi we’ll take a look at it. Thanks for reporting.

Cheers Luke!

(While you're at it, is there any chance of being able to filter or sort playlists by play-state? Either one would enable me to clear yesterday's played items instantly and will literally save me tens of minutes a week.)

Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred:

Thanks!

Thanks Luke.

Here's the log.

It's right at the bottom of the log. I started playing the song at 2:08, it lasts 3 mins 30 seconds and I deleted it from the playlist a few seconds after it finished. Being Willie Nelson it was right down the bottom of the list and when I removed it from the playlist it scrolled up 2600-odd files to the top.

I've Attached another video of what happened to go with the log.

At a guess I'd say it's something to do with when the playlist was saved at 02:12:45:186. It seems that when the playlist is saved it defaults to the original position of the list. It never used to happen with either single or multiple remove.

That's where I'd say the problem is. But I have absolutely no knowledge to back that up.
