How to merge genres?

Hello

i scrapped all my movies in french language for metadata but i discover that many english genres are retrieved.

So i have for example "Comédie" and "Comedy".

How can i merge them in one single "Comédie" genre and further scanning for new content will place them in "Comédie" and not create new genre "Comedy"?

I believe the plugin "Genre Cleaner" will do what you want. It is a bit clunky to use and quite a bit less than intuitive but it does what you ask.

I have it installed and it does work but it was somewhat hard to get it configured.  

EDIT: I just checked and, unless I am missing something, it has been made a bit easier to understand and quite a bit harder to actually use. I guess it is a good thing I pay little attention to genres in general. There are just too many and most are nearly meaningless.
