Search issue, every search is GLOBAL - why is this?

Hi, lately I'm finding this hugely annoying. Why is every search global? It doesn't matter which library I kick off the search from.

1) When I search the results that come back are from ALL emby libraries, this makes 0 sense. I get it, if you're at the home menu this makes sence, when I'm already in a library and I search, I expect the results to be just come back from that library.

If there are these build in filters already (which don't help the case) why not add instead of Top Results, or before it, "Current Library"...

2) How does the search work with multiple words? If I have 2 words my expectation is to find all content that have BOTH words in the title/metadata being searched; again logical (for me). What comes back is every single object if I'm stupid enough to put "and" as one of the words.

Can someone please post how to format a search with 2 words so that it looks for BOTH terms to return results? Or better yet make this default (ANDing terms), I think this makes the most sense, the more words (ANDed) the easier to filter down to what you're searching for.

I find that the search was much better on v8, not sure what's changed, but it's really poorly done with this version. Most of the time, I need to go through screens of info to find what I'm looking for AFTER searching.

Can someone chime in here with some workarounds, etc, this is just so frustrating...A search in a library is one of the most key elements and I find that it's highly lacking here.

TY

word1+word2

You could also wrap the search in quotes

Thanks, I can confirm this works (quotes or +), TY.

Can confirm this as well (didn't even know this lol). Here's a concrete example:

@ebris there a support page somewhere that has more info on the current search engine?

I don't think so but that's not a bad idea.  @sa2000
