Issue - Movies not getting added to library.

Hey all. I recently added a bunch of new movies to the collection and for some reason emby is not picking them up? I have tried restarting the server, scanning files and vacuuming the database. no idea what went wrong. As you can see from the screenshots Kung Fu Panda 3 was the last one but since then i've added quite a few from blu rays I've had lying around.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried renaming the files with their IMDB ID's as well and it just fully isn't pulling them in.

Hi, what exactly makes you think that Emby isn’t picking them up? Is it just due to what you see in the latest list?

Hey Luke. None of the titles show up when I search for them. Is there a better way I can check?

Can you try using the duplicates filter in your movies list? They may have been merged with other titles as multi version.

Just tried that and there are only a handful of movies here that are flagged as duplicates (just some wedding videos I didn't name well enough).

To give some further information, when I go to folders, I can see all the folders there, but it says every one of them is empty?
Seems to not be picking up the files maybe?

are there any overlaps in your folder definitions for the libraries ? 

Can have a look at debug logs of a scan after moving the files/folders out and doing a scan and then moving them back again and scanning the library

Start this with a fresh launch of emby server after enabling debug logging in server settings / Logs / Settings

You have already established that there is an issue as the Folders view showed no media

Look at "My Media" section on the Home Screen and open the library and view with sort by date added

Yes check Metadata providers in your Library settings.

Mine was not enabled after updating to server to 4.9.3.0

Thanks for the recs. I have done the following:

1) Moved all missing movie folders out of the /config/movies folder. Did a library Scan

2) Moved them all back. Did another library scan.

3) Did a "scan for missing metadata" on the movies folder where they are housed.

4) Downloaded the embyserver.txt log file and attached it below.

5) Eagerly awaited response from people with bigger brains than mine.

I would try setting the mutli-version option to be based on files only. Then run a library scan after changing it and see if that helps.

Once you get this resolved, look into your OpenSubtitles configuration as there are thousands of logged errors like this:

Oh interesting. That looks like the issue though. Do you know how I could fix this?

I installed emby on a terramaster Nas using the docker app for Tnas. To update I downloaded the terramaster latest release version, built an image and started the container.

Sorted! Just had to change the permission of allow all for all usergroups and did a re-scan and that seemed to work. Thank you. What was so strange was that movies added prior to updating Emby in December all had the same permissions in Tnas as the movies that were not showing. 

 

The solution for anyone with the same issue is to navigate to Terramaster. Click "properties" on the movies folder and check "allow all" for the emby user (I did for all users just to be safe) then check the box for all Sub folders to inherit the same permissions.
