Hello

for my movies files i would have a NFO file with only TMDB id, so that the scrapping could have the ID to look up  via TMDB api and fetch all metadata.

What is the proper structure for NFO file to offer to scan the TMDB id?

Thanks

Why use an nfo when you can put the id right there in the name of the media file?  Just add "[tmdbid=nnnnn]" to it.

Hello,

thanks for the advice.
I tried to name correctly but it does not retreive anything.

Here my structure file:
/FR Wolfblood/S05/S05E10 - FR Wolfblood 05x10 - Unis nous resterons [tmdb-58956]

How to set up library to make it work?

It would be usual to provide the id of the series in the series folder name; once the series has been correctly identified, normally the seasons and episodes are no problem.  In your example, you have specified a series id as the id of an episode, which is in any case inappropriate.  Also, the name "FR Wolfblood" is not recognised. I would use:

/Wolfblood [tmdbid=58956]/Season 5/Wolfblood s05e10 - United We Stand.mkv    [or .mp4 or whatever]

If the "FR" you have added to the name is to indicate the language required, that should instead be done using Emby's language preference settings for the library concerned.

With episodes you just need to worry about the series and then make sure each episode has the correct season and episode numbers.

Is the name of this series really "FR Wolfblood" ? I think that's where your issue is.

Hello

So if i recap: the TMDB id must belong to the series name and episodes must contain season number and episode number.

What is the proper structure of episode name? Is SXXEXX correct? Should it concatenate at begining or end of episode name?

Thanks

Several similar formats for episode numbers are accepted - my example used the ones I happen to standardise on myself.  They are all documented here:

https://emby.media/support/articles/TV-Naming.html

I guess we should also check whether your library is a TV shows, Movies, or Mixed type.  In Mixed libraries, it is more important to keep strictly to the recommended folder structures.  Also, the default database (the first in the list) for TV series is TVDB - have you deliberately changed it to TMDB as your example suggests (obviously the id is different in TVDB)?

Hello

if tmdb-id is well written in the name of series, the FR prefix should not be an issue i guess.

It would be complicated to remove automatically the FR prefix by now.

If i stay on the NFO file with only TMDB id. What is its proper structure? It must be place in the series folder or on every season folder?

Some feedback after test:

Whatever the name of the serie, put [tmdb-id] in the file name is enough to identify the serie.

Another way is to place a file name: tvshow.nfo under serie's folder.

tvshow.nfo:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<tvshow>
    <tmdbid>58956</tmdbid>
</tvshow>
