brothom 177 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 (edited) I've recently started using the Emby Audio/Songs functionality to digitize some of my library and it's working pretty well so far. Just now I wanted to cast to one of my Google Nest speakers from my desktop and just shuffle my songs. Connecting from my desktop to my Google Nest was an issue. My Nest speakers didn't show up in the Emby interface itself. Using Google Chrome's cast function my speakers would appear just fine. Now that I was connected Emby would also confirm this by displaying the name of the connected speaker next to the cast icon. Great! Pressing Shuffle would create a playlist with only the first song from the playlist (of thousands of pieces of media). Exiting the interface and trying the shuffle again would still create a playlist with only the first song. Pressing Play for the songs section would do the same; create a playlist with the first song from this playlist. To clarify, I'd like to cast from the "Songs" section within my library and the Shuffle and Play function. But these both just create a shallow playlist, only with the first song from the Songs library: Am I doing something wrong? This feature seems to work fine when I'm not casting. Both on Desktop and on my Android phone. Edited February 2 by brothom
Luke 42077 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
brothom 177 Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 (edited) @Luke Steps to reproduce: 1. Start casting from Google Chrome (Windows/Android/shouldn't matter) 2. Go to your Music library and click on "Songs" in the navigation 3. In the list of all songs, click either "Play" or "Shuffle" When casting, clicking Play or Shuffle (you might have to wait a couple of seconds) will result in a playlist with only a single (the first?) song. EDIT: Casting an entire album seems to work fine. I suspect this has something to do with the amount of items (more than 3000 in this case). EDIT 2: Playing/shuffling an artistwith 94 tracks seems to work okay-ish as well. Noticably slower than casting just an album. EDIT 3: Playing/shuffling an artist with +/- 290 tracks also results in a playlist with only one song: embyserver.txt Looks like there's a hard limit somewhere. Edited February 4 by brothom 1
