Conversions - Am I doing something wrong here

I have been trying to convert my library over to mkv and i am gettalmost all failing i am bot sure why  how do I figure out the cause and rectify this.  Any help is appreciated

You need to open the mkv in mkvtoolnix and see if it's "valid" and also run mediainfo to see if it can read the file.  As always, dev's would need logs to see why they are not playing on your LOCAL network.  FFmpeg logs is not on your local network.  Also rereadig yoru post, you are indicating problems with converting which I guess is straight problem with how you are using your tools and not Emby.

You can also try to play the file in vlc with VLC, but with the bare minimum info you have provided it's nigh near impossible to assist.
