Playback Just Started Buffering for Movies & TV Shows

Ever since I installed the latest version of the Emby Server for my DS1520+ Synology NAS I noticed that my movies and TV shows are buffering within the first few minutes for a few seconds and jumps ahead about 45 seconds. Could this be due to the recent upgrade? Attached are the most recent logs.

Currently Running:
NAS DSM version: 7.2.2-72806 Update 6
Emby NAS version: 4.9.3.0
I run my media through a 2019 Nvidia Shield
MakeMKV version: 1.18.3 I use this to rip my media

I realize there are several moving parts here, but I wanted to start at the NAS/Emby level for starters. Any help in solving this would be greatly appreciated.

Let me know if you need any additional information.

Hi.  Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

Thanks.

On the Nvidia Shield 2019, I can only install apps from Google Play. I have Emby for Android TV and Emby for Android installed and I see the same results. Any other suggestions?

Hi, let's look at an example using Emby for Android then. Thanks.

@LukeI just wanted to update this topic. Emby is NOT causing this issue. What I discovered it that my UHD Drive is having issues performing clean rips of older DVDs using MakeMKV. It's a known issue with some DVD drives.

  • Thanks 1
