Emby for Android 3.5.28 break Av1 directplay on FireTV devices

Emby for Android 3.5.28 has broken AV1 direct play on both my FireTV Cube 3rd Gen and my FireTV Television.

AV1 directplay playback worked fine prior to this latest version being released.   Now all Av1 playback claims the video codec is not supported.

Emby for Android 3.5.28 + Emby Server 4.10.0.1

Anyone else confirm they are seeing the same?

Hi, does your device have av1 hardware decoding?

Both devices have Av1 hardware decoding and worked perfect prior to 3.5.28 upgrade.  Now it detects it as not supported on both devices.  I am a heavy AV1 user, so all my devices were bought with AV1 in mind.   GoogleTV (onn 4k) devices work fine on the same 3.5.28 code.

What version of android does it run?

Fire Television ->  Fire OS 7.7.0.8 (PS7708/5501)
FireTV Cube (3rd gen) ->  Fire OS 7.7.1.1 (PS7711/5272)

Which I believe are based on Android 9.

I can confirm the same behavior on my FireTV. AV1 direct play stopped working recently. If I remember correctly, it was still working around version 3.5.21 or 3.5.23 - unfortunately I can't say for certain which exact version.

This appears to be fixed in the latest release,  v3.5.29. that just hit github.

Tried a few AV1 encodes files on my Fire Television.   Good to go.
