UsamaWaheed 8 Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I’m encountering a crash in the Emby app when using the “Go to next episode” popup at the end of an episode. This only happened in one case but it was repeatable for that episode. Details: Running Emby for Android on Nvidia Sheild TV Pro 2019 Media: Hell Mode (Anime) Issue occurs at the end of Episode 2 When the popup appears asking to go to the next episode, selecting Next Episode causes the Emby app to crash. Initially, I thought this was a one-off. To confirm, I enabled logging in the app and reproduced the issue again: Played Episode 2 to completion “Next Episode” popup appeared Clicked Next Episode Emby app crashed again Additional observations: If I manually start Episode 3 directly (without using the popup), it plays perfectly with no issues. Playback of Episode 2 itself is also fine; the crash only happens when using the automatic “Next Episode” prompt. Logs: App logs are attached for reference. (only one log file has the crash sorry wasn't sure which one). Let me know if you need any additional logs, device details, or steps to help troubleshoot further. Thanks for looking into this. emby_android_1769600599795.txt emby_android_1769600674571.txt
sa2000 674 Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I just tried Emby for Android 3.5.28 on Nvidia Shield and with the user Playback settings having: Play Next Episode deselected, and Show Up Next Preview enabled. When I got to the end of episodes and clicking on "Next Episode" when it pops up, I did not get a crash and it started playing the next episode Is this happening on all episodes ? I will refer the logs to the development team Would you be able to get an adb logcat ? If you can, please also enable debug logging on the emby server and start an adb -s ip.of.shield:5555 logcat -v time > logcat_2026-01-xx.log and with debug logging enabled on emby server, repeat the test and then get the logcat file, the embyserver.txt log and android debug log and zip and send me by Private Message
sa2000 674 Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Does this mean anything to you ? It is what the crash ware related to when clicking on Next Episode android.media.tv/preview_program Not sure if it is some configurable option

Sure let me get the adb logcat tomorrow for you. Thanks for the quick reply. 10 minutes ago, sa2000 said: Does this mean anything to you ? I did move to Projectivity launcher recently - just curious if that is what might be causing this. 1

I can see an exception at 15:12 on the 31st. It looks different from the previous crash. Thanks for getting the logcat as well. I have passed the logs and logcat for this crash to the development team
