user24 313 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Hi, within a Music Library it is currently possible to Sort both Albums and Songs by Community Rating. Please could this useful functionality be extended to Album Artists and Artists and Composers. Thanks for considering.
user24 313 Posted January 30 Author Posted January 30 That's excellent! Thanks, From what I've figured out so far, by giving my own ratings to Album Artists, it seems that using Community Rating for Music, as a defacto User Rating, is very practical and useful. I imagine this may even flow on to some good options for smart playlists and smart collections when they are ready??? Something else I've noticed is that the List View for Album Artists will always show the Community Rating by default (which is ok), but the Primary View doesn't even have an option to show the Community Rating field. Ideally it should be optional to show it in the Primary View, the same way that Albums currently has (example below): You would probably be across this anyway and know the best way to incorporate into views, sorting and filtering for UI consistency and best usability. Cheers! 1
user24 313 Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 Hi, I just finished rating (or more so ranking) all of my 2000+ AlbumArtists by AlbumCount/10 and thought I'd check out the latest beta... found that you have implemented the asked for Community Rating views and sorting already!!! Thank you - much appreciated! it seems to be working really well from what I can see so far... With a Descending Sort, this is the result: This Primary Sort is exactly what I wanted. The only very minor issue is that the Secondary Sort is by descending Sort Title, E.g. the 4.5 star rating: Status Quo Soundtrack John Mellencamp Beatles My thought is that irrespective of ascending or descending Primary Sort, it would be nice if the Secondary Sort was always ascending Sort Title, E.g.: Beatles John Mellencamp Soundtrack Status Quo But no matter if you agree or not, the Primary Sort is really excellent. Thanks again!!! 1
