I am unable to remote connect to my media server from my phone or from another location.

I am not really good with techincal things.

StarLink Internet

Ubiquiti Dream 7 Router

Windows 11 Home

AMD Ryzen 9 9950x3d

256 GB RAM

AMD RX7900 XTX Phantom Gaming 24 GB Graphics Cards

I opened up the 8096 port in Port Forwarding for the Ubiquiti Router.

Outside of that I'm pretty lost as to what to do to get it to connect remotely.

Any help would be appreciated.

I believe StarLink uses CGNAT so you'll have to use a solution like Tailscale or ZeroTier to VPN into your network for remote access. Just as a general FYI for your knowledge though you generally would need to port forward on both the ISP gateway (in this case you can't if they are using CGNAT) as well as your Ubiquiti router if it's also running a private network and not just extending the private network from the ISP gateway - you would port forward from the ISP gateway to the Ubiquiti router, then you would port forward from the Ubiquiti router to your server device.

Thank you very much. That worked. I appreciate your help.
