Sorahl 6 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 (edited) So, this happens almost daily. Here is the scenario I have set Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune to record daily on WABC at 7pm and 7:30. new episodes only. It is only m-f but i've tried any day as well as limiting it to m-f. when i do this - it shows up immediately. Super. that night all records as planned the next day i review the recording schedule and they are no longer on the schedule. The series are still set to be recorded but all the switches to record the new episodes are turned off. I see in the logs (attached) the creation of the recording but I don't see it listing anywhere that it is turning that off. I have let it go to see if it would record anyway but it does not. My only solution is to created the series recording each day, then the next day or day after when i see they are no longer in the schedule I delete the series and redo it again. Note - I do not have this issue with ANY OTHER show series i've set to record. I have several, and they are all working as designed.. Thanks embyserver.txt Edited January 22 by Sorahl adding another data point
Luke 42077 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Hi, how did you configure the options on the series schedule?
Sorahl 6 Posted January 22 Author Posted January 22 a number of ways. one way i have done it was to go to the guide, go to a showing of one of them and click on the program. then i clicked record series the other way i have done it was from Recordings I click Add Recording then guide and also search and look for Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune, then the same. both methods result in the same behaviour. the scheduled recordings are there today, and then gone tomorrow.
pwhodges 2012 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Does the guide show unambiguously that the episodes are actually different? Paul

Can you please show a screenshot of the series recording options? Thanks.
Sorahl 6 Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 sure thing. I have also attached logs again because it happened again. this morning when i posted I had reset the series up again to record. they recorded today, and i saw all the episodes for the next 2 weeks in the schedule. Tonights episodes recorded and we watched them, deleted the episodes and watched something else. THen I checked the schedule and they are gone again. The series recording requests are still in there Thanks for even responding... :) embyserver.txt

Paul Yes it indicates that the episodes are New, i have the settings set to record New. I have other series which i'm just trying to collect all the episodes i can set to any episode (and not to record it if I have it already)
Solution Luke 42077 Posted January 23 Solution Posted January 23 Hi, try unchecking the option called don't record episodes that are already in my library.
sa2000 673 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 That probably will get round the problem. In other forum topic, I looked into recordings missed because two different episodes had same episode title For this series we have all these episodes with same title and may be that is the same as what was seen for multi-part titles with different episodes but same title
Sorahl 6 Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 So far everything has been holding as intended. i have not been deleting programs after we've watched them, on purpose. Now i will start deleting them and see if that causes the issue. If not, then i think you solved it..

I wonder if they can set Emby to be looking at the episode# for the 'same episode' correlation.

That is what I suggested in the issue raised with the development team. The episodes whilst having the same title, do have different season/episode numbers and different TMSID's (a Gracenote episode ID) 1
Sorahl 6 Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 I did delete the two shows after we watched them last night, not really thinking that would be a problem after looking at the information shared. Hopefully they will be able to add the episode and season check. thank you everyone for your help... John 2
