terse 1 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 How can I prioritize using local NFOs for Emby's actors, and only use TheMovieDb or other online metadata if no local NFO is available?

Its structure is within the actor_name folder: folder.jpg person.nfo If the actor's name does not match TheMovieDb, the actor's image and information in the nfo will be displayed. If it matches TheMovieDb but TheMovieDb does not contain actor metadata, the local nfo will fail. Emby cannot recognize it.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Yes a by name folder will be superceded when a name(providerid) folder is created. In the end one could have a lot of unused by name folders depending on how old one's install is as everything at one time way just by name folder. Once a movie pulls a actors id per the item metadata it will create said name(idfolder). So previous local info will become obsolete.

Where is this `name(idfolder)` folder located? I want to prioritize using the images and NFO metadata from the `name` folder.

Where is this `name(idfolder)` folder located? It would be right in the same place. You might just not have any. Quote I want to prioritize using the images and NFO metadata from the `name` folder. But then what will happen when you have two actors with the same name?
