akbumpkin 3 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 This problem continues with every single update. Every user, every library, every device. It's impossible to keep up with. PLEASE prioritize fixing this. Allow the administrator to change the setting would be satisfactory, but currently, only the user can change it from the specific device.
Luke 42077 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 @akbumpkin HI there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks !
akbumpkin 3 Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 (edited) @Luke Yes, sorry, I was trying to reply to an existing topic and don’t know why I apparently created a new one. The OP (which I found by searching the same title as the one I somehow created) from a few years ago read as follows: “Every time I update Emby Server, all of my users have the "Group items into collections" setting reset and I have to instruct them on how to change it back. It's getting extremely irritating.” That, along with my extended description of having to change the setting for every user, every library, and every device, is the extent of the problem with every update. This attached image shows the “Group items into collections” tick box that has to be re-ticked after nearly every Emby update. Every individual user (including the admin), every library, on every device has that box un-ticked after nearly every update. Thank you!
Luke 42077 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 OK that was certainly not intentional. Please note that this setting is stored individually in each app. For the web app, that means clearing browsing data can cause this to be reset.

I understand it was not intentional, and don’t really care about whether it was or wasn’t. It would be very beneficial to have a setting for admins to check that box ON universally for all users, libraries, and devices. Or maybe to change it to ON as the default, while OFF is the optional setting, and not the default setting. Thank you!
