podonnell 47 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Hi, Using TheMovieDB as my provider. It seems the genres listed on their webpage are in order of relevance. That is, a war movie will have War listed before any other genre that loosely describes it. Is there any way we can either limit the number of genres that are pulled, or potentially hook into which is listed as the primary genre for a movie?
user24 313 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 This is one way you could try, if you haven't already. It's a bit manual (with Emby settings) though and you might be wanting something more automatic via the provider?? Go to Settings Display Preferences and limit the Genres display to 1: Then Edit the metadata of the individual Movies and rearrange the Genres order: For this example, only Crime will then display at the top: All Genres still appear at the bottom - but now in your selected order. Someone else may know a different/better/automatic way???

You're right though -- I'm hoping for a more automated way to automatically show the most relevant genre. It's possible Emby is ordering them in some way already, and I might just need to limit it down to 1 or 2. What I'm concerned about is if I limit genre to 1 I might have a genre show up that is not the primary genre of the movie. Which from the looks of TheMovieDB, they have the genres ordered by most relevant.
Luke 42077 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 It will import them in the order they appear in from the metadata provider. 1
