dark_slayer 103 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Okay, this is another one of those "if you do things in a strange way like I do" type of updates . . . But I noticed a weird behavior with using the XBMB3C addon to set views If you are like me, then you particularly dislike having main menu items like favorites, programs, and videos so you disable them in every skin you try Where does that leave you when you need to change an add-on? Well, in Aeon Nox 4, BigNoid had built a "Launch" feature so that you just went over to settings->enabled add-ons-> and then selected the add-on of your choosing and used the "launch" feature (less top level administrative folders is better for aesthetics IMO) -- other fun fact, I asked him nicely and he submitted a PR that is now mainline in Helix (so every skin can have this in the future) .... On to the strange behavior . . . when you navigate through "Video Add-Ons" and launch the XBMB3C add-on none of the "Set Views" options work. The current active view does not change. However, when you navigate through the "Program Add-Ons" section and launch the XBMB3C add-on, the "Set View" options all work as intended Not really sure what that is called. Certainly of little consequence, but maybe helpful to someone
marcelveldt 736 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 (edited) With the new mediabrowser skin helper service you don't need to set the views manually anymore. This will be done by the skin. If you select another view in the videolibrary it will just store this to your MB3 preferences. Currently the only skins that have this features are 1080XF and Titan but I'm shure other skins will follow soon. BTW, I have no clue why it doesn't work but I think it hase something to do with the addon being launched from the addonbrowser and not from the MovieLibrary.... I'll check it out for you Edited December 1, 2014 by marcelveldt
xnappo 1611 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 That is weird - it used to work I can't test now though.
dark_slayer 103 Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 That is weird - it used to work I can't test now though. Well I get that my post may have been a little close to TL;DR status It works fine when entering the MB3 addon from "Programs" on the main menu, or strolling through your add-on browser and launching XBMB3C from Enabled Addons->Program Addons->XBMB3C It does not when launching XBMB3C from Enabled Addons->Video Addons->XBMB3C It's kind of a pointless quirk as I'm sure I'm in the 0.01% who never use their home-menu "Programs" entry to start with
xnappo 1611 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Yeah, that is how I always did it before it was built into Nox though..
dark_slayer 103 Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 Yeah, that is how I always did it before it was built into Nox though.. Hmm, were you using the Video Addons to launch XBMB3C from Settings->Addons->Enabled Addons or Program Addons?
xnappo 1611 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Yes, and just tried it and it worked. Are you using one of those skins with the 'new' set views features? Try with Nox4 or Confluence. xnappo
