Hello,

Can I set Fire TV to always transcode?

Because currently it plays via DirectPlay and therefore often freezes

(connection via the internet).

Can I perhaps do this on the server side

or on Fire TV?

Hi.  Just change the quality setting in the app to whatever you feel is appropriate.

Why doesn't it do that automatically? When we test it via the browser, it works perfectly.

It does but it sounds like you may have widely variable conditions at play.

Hi.  Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

Thanks.

With my friend, if you manually set the quality to 1080p50, it works, but if it's set to auto, it stutters because DirectPlay does it without transcoding.

Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred:

Thanks!

Simply adjust the app’s quality setting to what works best for you. Choose the option that feels right for your viewing experience.
