austinchief 5 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 In an effort to be non-intuitive and obscure brut-force attacks on my emby server, I changed my port from 8096 to 41738 and 8920 to 49738. After saving the changed, I restarted my server and now I cannot access from my LAN via the IP:41738. I have changed the rules on my router for WAN access, and cannot access that way either. What did I do wrong? How do I recover from this?
Solution austinchief 5 Posted January 14 Author Solution Posted January 14 Ok, so I solved my own problem. Well, I should say, ChatGPT was able to guide me to solve my own problem. I am using CentOS, and there is a firewall running under the hood. Check firewall status sudo systemctl status firewalld List currently open ports sudo firewall-cmd --list-ports Open your ports permanently sudo firewall-cmd --add-port=41738/tcp --permanent sudo firewall-cmd --add-port=49173/tcp --permanent sudo firewall-cmd --reload Once I reloaded, I tried accessing again and voilà ... it works again! 1
