tesla1886 3 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Just a little while ago I was watching a show through the Emby Roku app. We had a temporary power failure and now I cannot get Emby to open again. I have clean junk files from the system and rebooted the system before and after rebooting. System is Windows 10 (I know needs upgrade but that takes money. I have thought about replacing Win 10 with Ubuntu, but that would take away on of the systems I use to rip DVDs, anybody have a suggestion for a Linux program to that with) 16 gig ram AMD FX-8320 8 Core Nvidia GT 730 video card Emby will not start even if I click on its icon in the start menu. Any suggestions what I should do next? PS I have a UPS but it needs a battery, which I will now be replacing in a couple days when I get paid.
tesla1886 3 Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 I "reinstalled" Emby now it it is working fine. Would like to know how to preven this from happening again UPS or not. 1
brothom 177 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 @tesla1886this depends on your setup entirely. Are you running via "Startup" or as a "Service"?

Hi, first we have to learn what happened. If you still have the server log files from when this happened, that might tell us something. How to Report a Problem Also windows event viewer.

This is after, I made the first post at 1407, everything in the log is after that. The only other logs that would have anything are attached. There are logs at 0714 but I wasn't watching anything then. I didn't attach them because everything was fine the power failure. I thought what ever was preventing the program to run would be in the previously attached files. I am not sure this file will have anything either, unless it would have been updated after I rebooted. When the power failed there was no time to write to the logs embyserver-63903996831.txt
Luke 42077 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 OK thanks for the info. I think something must have become corrupted due to the sudden shutdown.
tesla1886 3 Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 How do I get Emby to run as a service? I do not want to have to log in to get Emby running.
