Hi @Luke

I'd like to know if it will still take a while for them to fix this problem with Emby for LG TVs.
It's been more than 2 weeks since I noticed the problem.

Sorry for insisting, but it's becoming too disruptive.

Hi, the plan is for this week. Thanks.

My friend @Luke

Any updates on the issue?

While we're at it, would you know if we'll ever get the Emby app for Samsung TVs in Brazil?

Hi, it is still the same. Regarding Samsung, please see this topic:

@LukeMe again.

I didn't imagine this update error could be so complicated to fix.

Is there an update available?

It's really difficult having to extract the embedded subtitles from my TV shows to save them as an external file.

MKVCleaver V 0.8.0.1 64 bit for Windows extracts subs pretty easily. You can load many .mkv videos at once select whatever subs you want and click Enter.  You could do hundreds at a time.  I suggest this older version.  The latest update has some issue with false positive virus check.

You can also extract a new version of video + audio, without the subs.  Both these processes take under a minute for each 2 hour media.

HI, we are looking into it. Thanks.

Hello.

I'm not sure if it would be wise to revert to the previous version of the Emby app on LG TVs until a solution is found. Besides giving the impression that it's not applying or correctly reading special character encoding, if you fast-forward or rewind the video on the LG TV (with the app acting as an Emby client), the subtitle timing gets messed up. This doesn't happen when watching the MKV video on a PC with Emby as the server.

Regards

Hola.

Saludos

Trek,

The sample .srt you attached did not have the 2 letter country codes in the file name.  For Portuguese, they should be named either:
Fallout.S02E05 - O Vaqueiro.br.srt
Fallout.S02E05 - O Vaqueiro.pt.srt

WIthout the two letter code you could run into the font problem.  Just a guess.

Ebedded files in the media, might also have some tagged language issue.  Just because the subtitles should be portuguese, doesn't mean the tag id in the media is correct.  Original content can also be limited for broadcast and playback on disc to different world zones. Is this media broadcast to Portuguese speaking country, Brazil or Portugal? Or is this media copy coming from another world zone?    If you have a copy of a media with a world zone on broadcast or on a blu-ray disc set for North America, it may not work correctly for subtitles in South America or Southern Europe

Friend, regarding using Pt-br in the external subtitle file, I don't know if it influences the Emby system defect.

The problem occurs when the subtitle is embedded, even in cases where Portuguese (Brazil) is specified.

Every video with an external SRT subtitle file reads the subtitle correctly.

I tried using the program you mentioned, but it extracts the subtitle and inserts _track4 in the file name, and Emby doesn't recognize it. I would have to rename each extracted subtitle, and that's impractical.

The problem isn't with the files themselves; it's an update error. I've been using Emby for years, and only now has this subtitle error occurred, which is causing significant problems.

I'll wait for the technicians to fix this or at least revert the LG TV's Emby to the previous version, without this error.

Imagine having to rename each subtitle for a series like Grey's Anatomy, which has 22 seasons.

I'll wait for the system to be fixed or for them to revert to the previous version without this defect.

Same problem in LG WebOS TV. Usually I'm using tr-TR subtitles. Also, the problem has been present for 2-3 weeks, and I wanted to ask if downgrading the Emby server to a previous version would solve the problem?

These are examples of videos where the subtitles have a problem right from the start.

The subtitle file (.srt) is also attached.

Greys.Anatomy.S22E07 - Skyfall (1)-001.mkv 9.82 MB · 1 download Greys.Anatomy.S22E07 - Skyfall (1)-001.srt 445 B · 1 download

I'm not seeing this problem now with your files

Can you please confirm your current server and app version?

Perfect. I'm on the current server beta, so hopefully this is fixed for you in the next server releases.

I appreciate you trying to resolve the issue, but I believe the problem lies with the LG TV app 1.0.50, as it doesn't correctly interpret symbols or accents in subtitles, whereas it did in previous versions, not with the server.
