trekflix 5 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I'm having the same problem with the subtitles embedded in MKV videos. The problem is recognizing accented characters like ç or ã. But in the same file that has the separate SRT subtitle file in the folder, the system recognizes the accents correctly. However, most of my videos don't have the extra SRT file, only the SRT subtitle already embedded in the MKV. The error doesn't occur in the mobile app, only on the LG TV.
zevan 0 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I have the same problem probably. In russian language subtitles are not readable at all, it looks like not a single symbol is dispalyed correctly. At the same time, everythig works fine on Emby Android app.
Luke 42077 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 @trekflix Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
trekflix 5 Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 (edited) @Luke I'm sending the server log and a video showing the subtitle error. After the update, on my LG TV (apparently only LG), when playing a video with original audio and subtitles embedded in the video file, accented letters are replaced with symbols. However, if I switch to a separate .SRT subtitle file in the folder (not embedded in the video), the system recognizes all accents correctly. I tested with video files in .Mkv x264 and .Mkv 265 formats. The problem occurs in both video encoding formats and also in the subtitle encoding formats (UTF-8 with BOM and 125: Western Europe). I don't know what else I can say, please tell me what you need me to say. 20260112_Video_subtittle_error.mp4 embyserver.txt Edited January 12 by trekflix
Citizen1234 0 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Same issue, web client showing properly polish signs, but the LG TV showing gibberish in their place.
josetto 0 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Same problem here, it seems that my UTF-8 with bom subtitles are on LG TV showed like coded in ANSI (same characters are showed in notepad++ when I change encoding to ANSI - without converting). But in web browser, it is working ok
Luke 42077 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Hi, this has been identified as an issue in the server and we’ll be getting an update out soon to resolve it. Thanks. 1
