Feature Requset: Clock overlay while playing video

Feature Request:

I was watching some old vhs footage recorded from the 90s and noticed a clock in the upper-right corner of the screen. Would it be possible for a toggle to display a clock overlay while playing a stream? 

I know some clients already do display a clock while browsing, maybe this could tie into that? And add it to the web browser interface as well which does not show a clock?

Maybe there could be a way to do this with CSS for web browsers for now? 

But a user-based toggle would be nice for a clock overlay while playing video, which I assume would require official support? And if that were possible, then maybe it could make its way into the official clients as well?

The follow-up question would be should it use server-time or client-based time? I would imagine client-based would be more complicated but I know some clients already do display a clock while browsing.

I'm not a programmer but I just thought it would be a nifty little feature that could piggy-back off existing code.

It does in TV mode - as do all other TV client apps as well, AFAIK. So which client app (or apps) you're referring to with the FR?

The primary feature request would be a way to toggle the display of the clock over the playing video all of the time. Most clients do show a clock (that I know of the exception is web without tv mode and appletv), that's why I was saying it could piggy-back off existing code. So the feature would be a way to have it display over playing video at all-times without needing to exit the active stream or move the cursor such as on web with tv mode. And the toggle on the user-level so they have the choice.

You don't need to exit the active stream, just bring up OSD, clock is always there. Personally, I'd find it very annoying if it were displayed at all times during playback, and don't mind single click on a remote if I want to check current time - but sure, it's a valid FR, Devs will have to revert on that one.
