dcol 175 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 (edited) What are the advantages, if any, of using Nvidia RTX A2000 and Intel Ultra Arc Graphics (Xe-LPG)? I know that Intel can do AV1, but I do everything in HEVC. Can emby use both GPU's with multiple streams? If so, which one should I assign the priority? Do I even need the Nvidia card? I may sometimes have 5-6 streams going at once. Thanks for any info on this subject. Edited January 11 by dcol Fixes
JoLas 26 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 (edited) I no longer use anything else but CPU (intel 11th gen) and have 6-7 transcodings at once max and cpu isn't maxed. Although these are not all 4k. Unfortunately since about a year or so I only use Software transcoding because of the subtitle bug that appeared. (some embedded subtitles are out of screen when using hardware) Edited January 12 by JoLas
dcol 175 Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 Thanks for the reply. I also want to know if there are any advantages using both GPU's or just stay with Intel?
Jdiesel 1431 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I don't have first hand experience but there are lots of threads on the forums about missing/outdated Intel drivers used by Emby and support for the latest Intel GPUs. Maybe this has changed recently but it's worth looking into whether your Intel GPU is currently supported and with what features. Maybe someone else will chime in.
dcol 175 Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 The Emby Intel drivers seem to be working fine. My question is if there is any advantage in running both the Intel Ultra Arc Graphics (Xe-LPG) and the Nvidia RTX A2000 GPU's in the Emby server?
dcol 175 Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 (edited) Thanks, I won't put my Nvida card in the Emby server. Just use the onboard Intel Ultra ARC. Which uses the Emby beta drivers Edited January 12 by dcol
