thefonz 4 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Hi, I have emby fully set up. When I login on LAN everything loads fine. However, when I try to use emby web connect it errors out with "can't reach server". I have followed the guide here: I have port forwarding also set up (I think). If I go to whatsmyip and grab my IP and type [my ip]:8096 on my phone it can't reach the address. I'm just wondering if I missed anything crucial? I'm also having some difficulty verifying the port forwarding on the router. Any brainstorming thoughts much appreciated.

thefonz 4 Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 (edited) Thanks. I just checked on this and it seems my port is closed? I scheduled a call with my internet provider to verify. When I log into my router it seems the port forwarding is set up but I'm not 100% sure. Edited January 9 by thefonz 1
Neminem 1518 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Yeah call them its free The ask them if you are connected via CGNAT or if you can get a fixed / static IP.
thefonz 4 Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 Ok. Thanks anyway. DS Audio (synology native app) is working fine, but it's clunky. Thats why I wanted to switch to Emby. I gotta say it's very polished looking (it's working on LAN).

thefonz 4 Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 I just checked my IP and indeed i am behind a CGNAT. I will request a static IP address from my provider. Thanks guys! 1 1
