MndWrp 101 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 So, I will try to explain this in steps. My library is composed of movies and tv series that have both a 1080p and a 720p versions. And when scanning a new movie in, the metadata will download for both versions and create an .nfo file for each version. Sometimes the info (description, genre, etc.) is not quite good enough, so I edit the info to make it to my linking. This however only edits one of the metadata nfo files. Not that big a deal since the info that I edited is displayed, so I'm happy. However... I'm in the process of setting up a kids account, and want to restrict everything PG-13 or higher. Easily done in the user settings, and I add a higher custom rating to movies that somehow are under what you expect... (like Jaws is only PG? What the...) But in the kid's account I can still see Jaws since it only added the custom rating to one of the nfo files, and is happily displaying the other in the kids account... So is there a way to unify the metadata so either there is only one nfo file per movie, independent of versions, or when you edit something, the change happens in both files...? (And yes I know I can manually edit the other nfo file, which is what I've been doing, but hopefully there's a better solution) Thanks everybody Emby is awesome !
Luke 42077 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Hi, right now this is the way multi-version works because they are still separate items in the database. They are just merged at the point of display. There is definitely room for improvement though.
