sargenthp 35 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) Anyone else having more issues lately with Live TV pausing or dying? Especially during NFL games. If I switch to the HDHomeRun app there might be a hiccup here and there, but at least it continues to play. Do we know if there are any alternatives to try for the backend ffmpeg process or other tweaks I should do on my Emby setup or on my HDHomeRun devices? Thanks! Edited January 8 by sargenthp
Luke 42077 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
sargenthp 35 Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 Attached. I also sent logs from my Android TV device. Pause started at 6:46pm Central. Thank you! ffmpeg-directstream-a45f1d44-5ed0-419d-aa5e-bca4f54e4da8_1.txt embyserver.txt
Luke 42077 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Hi. Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares? Thanks.

sargenthp 35 Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 By default "Prefer direct streaming of Live TV" is enabled on the standard app... But that prevents rewinding and fast forwarding of Live TV (Which could use some help anyway). Appears, so far, to appear to help with the pauses with this mode. I believe that the Android TV app option "Direct Play Live TV" does the same thing, and is disabled by default (This also disables pausing). Disabling "Prefer direct streaming of Live TV" on the standard app.... Once again allows rewinding and fast forwarding (but appears to allow FF beyond live TV and just sits). But the pauses and lockups return. Another thing about the standard Android app is that the passcode entry screen is visible. Doesn't give me an option to enter a passcode using the remote buttons to hide the passcode.
