HouseOfCards 95 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I have a quick question relating to the generation of video preview thumbnails. These settings... I had initially set the interval to 10 seconds, and my cache for backups is fairly large. I assume this option uses significant disk space, essentially saving an image for every 10 seconds of every movie. To tweak that a bit, I changed it to only for "Chapter Markers". My question is does changing this cause Emby to rescan and delete the existing images created every 10 seconds, or is this only for newly added media? Thanks!
Solution Luke 42077 Posted January 7 Solution Posted January 7 Hi, it's for newly added media. You will have to manually delete the existing thumbnails and then do metadata refreshes to regenerate. To manually delete, look for files with the .bif extension. 1

Is it possible to just to remove the path from the library and re-add it after a short time? Or copy a movie out of the storage location for a brief time, then re-add it?

But otherwise then yes that should be fine.
