Need help with trying to put smart light strips in entertainment console

So i want to put light strips in a.new entertainment console i purchased & im bitbsire how i can run the light strip across the inside top & bottom shelf becasue there is the middle board inside for support there isnt any type of opening i can run the strip across. I dont want to do 4 strips for top & bottom for each side & its compressed wood so im not sure if I can drill a hole in it. I purchased sengled zigbee lights strips because i use samsung smartthings but I can get a different brand if it has something to.let me curve around the middle board through the back. I really can use some help.
