TonyCP 0 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Having just tried to set up Emby server on an elderly iMac that can't be updated beyond MacOS 10.13, the machine refuses to allow use of the downloaded app (embyserver-osx-x64-4.7.14.0), stating that it needs a later version of of MacOS! I double-checked that I had downloaded the correct version of Emby labelled on the Downloads as being suitable for 10.13 before filing this report. Suspect that either the wrong file is being linked, or you need to drop the claim that it can be run on MacOS 10.13?
Solution Luke 42077 Posted January 3 Solution Posted January 3 Hi, you are right, we probably should remove it now. But it does look like one user found a workaround:
TonyCP 0 Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 Luke - I would humbly suggest either removing the weblink to stop folks like me being disappointed, or since so many are stranded on MacOS 10.13 why not do what other providers do and make an archive version available that includes the last version that was valid for MacOS 10.13? So many of us use our older machines to explore promising new tools like Emby, so we can repurpose them as background servers? Thanks for the rapid response and suggested solution though, much appreciated!

I wouldn’t want to take it away if someone is actually able to run it.
Luke 42077 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 As far as the last version that is a good question because the releases were built with an environment that we had to stop updating specifically for this reason.
