slysword77 2 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Hi, I’m experiencing an issue with the Emby app on my LG TV and was advised by support to post here. Setup: - TV: LG SM9000PLA - WebOS firmware: 05.50.00 - Emby app version: 1.0.49 (LG Content Store) - Account: Emby Premium - Emby server: running in an LXC container on Proxmox VE 9 Since updating to Emby app version 1.0.49, the application no longer works properly on this TV. When launching the app, I consistently get the following error message displayed on screen: > **“There was an error executing the request. Please try again later.”** No error code is displayed and no additional details are provided. There is also no option to roll back to a previous version via the LG Content Store, so I’m currently stuck on this version. I wanted to check: - Is this a known issue with Emby 1.0.49 on LG WebOS TVs? - Is there any workaround or configuration change that could help? - Otherwise, is a fix already planned? If logs are needed, I can provide them **via private message**. Thanks
Luke 42077 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Hi, We are in process of submitting an update to LG that should resolve this. Thanks.

Hi, normal turnaround time is a couple weeks or so. We are bugging them to try and we expedite although I don’t know yet if that will help speed things up.
slysword77 2 Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 Hi, I updated my Emby server to version 4.9.3.0, but it's still stuck on the LG TV client side and no further updates are available.
Luke 42077 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Hi we have submitted an update to LG. We are just waiting for it to go through the LG review process. Thanks.
slysword77 2 Posted January 18 Author Posted January 18 Hi, Here in Europe, there are still no updates available on the LG WebOS store.
NakedPirate 15 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Grok says: --- "The approval time for apps submitted to the LG Content Store (for webOS TVs) varies depending on factors like app complexity, how well it meets LG's guidelines, whether revisions are needed, and current review queue volume. LG doesn't publish an official fixed timeline on their developer site. From developer reports and sources: It typically takes several weeks to a few months. In a 2023 forum post on the official webOS TV developer community, one developer reported waiting over 31 days (about 1 month) with the app still in QA. Some third-party development companies (like Muvi) state their apps are sent for LG approval and take about 2 weeks for review (though this may reflect smoother cases or pre-tested apps). In discussions around sideloading apps like Kodi, the LG process is described as "notoriously long and thorough," often requiring revisions due to strict rules, with estimates of 2–3 months in some cases (from 2024 community comments)."
slysword77 2 Posted January 19 Author Posted January 19 Hi, Thanks for the clarification, but my monthly Emby payment is still being taken and I'm not benefiting from it...
Neminem 1518 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Any user that relay on one client is f¤%ed from time to time. Get at backup playback stick, and be happy when you have it, when in need. That goes for any it related setup, always have a backup plan.
