By "startscreen" do you mean your Continue Watching row or something else?

Are you able to show a screenshot to be more specific?

Yes, in Continue Watching.

It shows the Background from the TV Show not from the Episode.

Startscreen Continue Watching, shows background image from the Show.

You can assign thumb-type image to episode manually and/or lend your support here:

Ches,

Where are episode images, collected and listed, per season or episode, online on any site?  Have you found images like this that fit each season or episode?  I have not.  Yes, there are many images, around in various websites, sometimes at the studio's website, that produces a series?  I don't see one website that shows images, specifically, for each season of TV series.  Some sites like imdb.com has thumbnails that matches a particular episode and a large collection of images, randomly listed from multiple seasons, promotions and back stage photos, all mixed together.  These images do not have a method to download them.

If no place has an organized list of season and episode images, why would you think you should be able to find them and have them organized for you?  Online services sell rights to get and use images of different types with a license fee that is often very expensive, because promotional images are sold for reuse.  There are press kits collections available for series from the production company or studio.  You have to go to each studio, separately, and the kits usually include just a mix of images that are not sorted by season.  If you want that type of organization of images, belonging to other production companies, you would have to do the organization yourself, or pay someone to do it for you.

The MovieDB or the TVDB do have these Pictures.

You want to use the Primary image as the backdrop?

I believe you need to delete the backdrops for the series. So that no backdrops exist at all for that series. The server then has to fallback to other images to show as backdrops. Then when going to the episode details view the fallback image is shown from your primary image as backdrop for that episode since the series lacks the backdrop. I believe that is how it presently works.

No backdrop showing. This is okay. The series must have no backdrop.

Then on the details view for that episode of that series the primary image is now shown as the backdrop.

NOTE: You MUST be using TV mode to enable this.
