adrianlovell 0 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 (edited) My Roku Streaming Stick Plus (3830EU) devices struggle with 1080i H264 live TV. Specifically, the Roku doesn’t handle deinterlacing properly and drops loads of frames as Emby is passing the stream through as Direct Play. The fix is to select “Playback Correction” twice and then the channel plays fine, but having to do this each time I change channels isn’t ideal. Once it’s playing the Stats for Nerds show the Video 1080i H264 stream is Transcoding with “Deinterlacingdeinterlace=advanced” selected (see attached photo). Similar experience with 576i channels (both H264 and MPEG2). Is there a way to default to turning on Deinterlacing for my Roku devices? Extra background, the TV is a Satellite feed from an Android VBox (vboxcomm.com) that presents itself as an HDHomeRun. Example channels with the issue are BBC 1 HD & 2 HD. FFMPEG logs attached, and embyserver log available via DM if required. An oddity, ITV HD is also a 1080i H264 channel and deinterlaces fine with Direct Play. ebr 16169 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Hi. What happens if you turn off the "Allow direct streaming of live streams" option in the app?

The Roku really shouldn't have a problem with these streams though. 32 minutes ago, adrianlovell said: An oddity, ITV HD is also a 1080i H264 channel and deinterlaces fine with Direct Play That may indicate that the problem is actually something else.

Settings -> Playback Settings -> Direct Stream LiveTV is set to “No”. Both Video and Audio are Direct Playing. My comment on ITV being OK was incorrect, apologies. Just hadn’t watched it enough - chucked it on now and it’s also showing the same problems.
