Richard Branches 330 Posted December 28, 2025 Posted December 28, 2025 Besides it also gets downmixed to stereo as on Android and Tizen, playback stutters and it freezes at some point, here's a server log, perhaps it provides any useful information about it. embyserver.txt
Luke 42077 Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 Hi, I guess what you mean to say is the LG audio player doesn't handle it very well, right? What format audio is it?

Yes, it appears to be the case. 1 hour ago, Luke said: What format audio is it? Forgot to mention it's FLAC. Do you need a sample file?
Luke 42077 Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 Do you know that it's something that the TV supports? Perhaps it shouldn't be direct playing.
Richard Branches 330 Posted December 29, 2025 Author Posted December 29, 2025 There is no transcoding involved but it may be possible that the TV doesn't support it in some way, if you don't see anything unusual on the log then I will have to test the internal player by connecting a USB dongle with a song to see what happens and then report it to LG.
Luke 42077 Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 Yea the one thing to keep in mind though is that that is not guaranteed to be the same result. It usually is very close but we have seen discrepancies. LG webOs apps are based on chromium, which has its own embedded ffmpeg build for playback. When you play with usb we don’t really know if it plays with the same components or not.
Richard Branches 330 Posted January 21 Author Posted January 21 I finally tested the internal media player of the TV and the multichannel FLAC files played without stutter but they were downmixed to stereo. I made the test after a firmware update arrived to the TV, I can't confirm if the issue was happening before. However, the Emby app doesn't play the files after the firmware update, it use to play before with stutter, now it doesn't do anything, this is on the latest 1.0.50. Please let me know if you need a log from the server.

Can you post the full media info and server log with a playback test It might be worth waiting in case you get another firmware update to confirm that LG don't resolve this. Keep in mind that LG support is only 2 channel flac
