clessy 12 Posted December 28, 2025 Posted December 28, 2025 Hello everyone, Hello Luke, First, my technical configuration: Synology NAS 1821+ DSM 7.3.2-86009 Emby Server 4.9.1.90 Multiple Emby clients, including Android TV, LG TV, and Windows Desktop. Remote connections are established via HTTPS on port 8920. Currently, Emby clients for LG TV and Emby Theater for Windows are experiencing problems. Video and audio are played back directly. The DS 1821+ does not transcode. My upload speed is a maximum of 500 Mbps. This provides sufficient bandwidth for direct playback. This setup has worked flawlessly for two years. However, for the past few days, playback issues have been occurring. Playback starts on the client, but after a short time, the stream stutters, freezes, and then resumes after a few seconds. This cycle repeats continuously. Video and audio are played back directly. Since my internet connection has sufficient bandwidth, I can't explain this behavior. I recorded the time period during which the problems occurred for three clients. These logs are attached. The problems started on December 28, 2025, and have been reproducible ever since. Client "Mum WZ" from 4:59 PM to 5:03 PM: LG TV 1.0.49 Client "Chantal WZ" from 2:35 PM to 2:35 PM: LG TV 1.0.49 Client "DESKTOP-49MF78T&X" from 12:45 PM to 1:07 PM: Emby Theater Client "DESKTOP-49MF78T&X" from 12:31 PM to 12:32 PM: Emby Theater The "embyserver_1" log contains entries up to 2:54 PM, and the "embyserver_2" log contains entries after 2:54 PM. I have already restarted the NAS twice (once even completely shut it down). Unfortunately, without success. Can the logs reveal what the problem is? Thank you. embyserver_2.txt embyserver_1.txt
Luke 42077 Posted December 28, 2025 Posted December 28, 2025 And can you try rebooting your nas, server machine and router at the same time?

clessy 12 Posted December 30, 2025 Author Posted December 30, 2025 Hi Luke, It looks like the HTTPS connection isn't working properly. I tested it with HTTP, and that works perfectly. So now I'll investigate whether the problem lies with the server or possibly with my Flex DNS provider. Do you have any tips for checking the HTTPS connection? Thanks and regards

The HTTPS connections are working perfectly again now. I haven't been able to identify the problem yet. Do you have any experience with this? What it could be? Thanks.
Luke 42077 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Well based on the problem: Quote Playback starts on the client, but after a short time, the stream stutters, freezes, and then resumes after a few seconds. This cycle repeats continuously. I would guess that you were not getting fast enough network performance on the remote connection and that the quality setting should be adjusted.
