No playback speed control on Roku, no matter what I've tried.

Playback speed control does not appear as an option nor in the "gear" menu on any of the Roku devices I have in this house.

I've followed suggestions found in other conversations about audio stream types, client throughput settings and playback correction settings, all to no avail.

I've clicked "Attempt Playback Correction" on every variety of video in my library until it cycles back to my starting "DirectPlay" or "DirectStream" status to no avail. I've done this on videos with AAC, MP3, EAC3, AC3, TRUEHD and DTS audio streams. Tried it with subtitles on and off. I've done this on H264. HEVC, MPEG4 video files. Tried it with subtitle burning-in settings on the server on an off.

Roku devices:
TCL Roku TV, Software Version 15.0, Emby client version 4.1.52, set for maximum Mbps (110), wired Ethernet connection
Roku Express 3930X, Software Version 15.0, Emby client version 4.1.52, set for maximum Mbps (110), WiFi 2.4 GHz
Roku Ultra 4800X, Software Version Software Version 15.0, Emby client version 4.1.52, set for maximum Mbps (110), WiFi 5.0 GHz

I am running Emby server 4.9.1.90 on Debian Linux 11 in a Microsoft Hyper-V VM on AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor.  Enabling hardware transcoding on Emby server would be pointless, as the VM can't see my video board.

Playback speed is adjustable for every video type if I use the web client in Edge, Safari, Chrome, Librewolf or Opera. Playback speed is adjustable when I use the iOS Emby client. Playback speed is adjustable when I use the Android client.

The playback speed is not available on the Roku at this present time. It does work with all media types. Works will all playback methods directplay, directstream, remux, and transcoding. But, a big caveat, speed changes do not work with pass-through audio codecs. So if you are direct playing something in 4K with DTS (or AC3/EAC3) you must have audio transcoding enabled for the user to be able to change speed. Because the server must then transcode the DTS (or AC3/EAC3) to AAC in order to allow the speeded up (or slowed down) audio. Roku uses their built-in audio processing to enable the speed change and this requires AAC (best quality) or MP3 (worst quality) only. Otherwise all you hear is silence. In order to do this the video will also drop frames when using speeds above 1.0x. We have several versions of things in testing at any time. I cannot say when this one will make an appearance ahead of any others. I can only say we are working on it. It will eventually happen at some point.

Thank you for the response. Looking forward to Roku client changes. As I'm the only one in the house who cares about this topic, I will just have to rely on screen-casting from my laptop when I want to watch something at a faster pace.
