Three months to fix a problem, which is clearly a major problem for those who watch in VOST, this is absolutely ridiculous.....

- Add new spotlight home screen section option (requires Emby Server 4.10+)
- Add new home screen section type called dynamic media with sorting and filtering functions
- Update to sqlite 3.51.2
- Fix regression with hiding users from login screens on remote connections
- Add sorting options to new home screen editor
- Add Copy Data to Users context menu command
- Fixes with home screen sections migration
- Revamp home screen section options with new section editor
- Add banner text option to server settings
- Support person credits at the bottom of person detail screens

Maybe not because this fix was already in 4.10.0.4-beta and this release did not resolved the subs issue:

No, that's an entirely different fix from a previous beta.

Is there any way to revert to the previous version? The problem has persisted for three months, making it impossible to watch a film in its original versioni with subtitles.

The only fix is external subs.

Hi, apologies for the delay. We are working on getting a new server release out to resolve this. The fix is already on the server beta channel. Thanks.

With 4.9.5.0 and LG-App 1.0.50 the "strange character" issue still exists for me in most languages.

Cheers!

The extracted subtitles are cached on the server, so it is probably still reading the version from the previous server version.

Try deleting the subfolders in the server 'cache/subtitles' folder to force it to re-extract the subtitles and retest.

There's a subtitle cache 🤯  well, oh dear, you live and learn.
Thanks very much, will provide update as soon as possible!

Works like a charm!

Sorry for the ruckus, the cache did the job, or better the emptying of it.
