Teddyknuddel 136 Posted December 26, 2025 Posted December 26, 2025 It's nice that there are still updates, but a changelog would be appreciated by many users so that they can see what has been changed.
TeamB 2438 Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 unfortunately I don't have time to curate a whats changed list. you can see the changes from a code point of view in the github history https://github.com/faush01/plugin.video.embycon/commits/develop/ the check in comments mostly make sense and can be followed by a none coder.
Teddyknuddel 136 Posted December 28, 2025 Author Posted December 28, 2025 What's the problem with working on a changelog alongside the project? And I'm supposed to fish out the changes from some unknown pages that no one knows about and see what's been done? Is blind trust being demanded here?
TeamB 2438 Posted December 28, 2025 Posted December 28, 2025 Quote What's the problem with working on a changelog alongside the project? it takes time and effort that I dont have. Quote And I'm supposed to fish out the changes from some unknown pages that no one knows about and see what's been done? all the changes are in the github repository history, if someone wanted too they could compile a change log, a volunteer to do this would be welcome. Quote Is blind trust being demanded here? demanded? I dont think anyone is demanding anything. Its just the way it is.
Teddyknuddel 136 Posted December 28, 2025 Author Posted December 28, 2025 In the time you've spent correcting me or telling me off here, you could have written to me three times to tell me what has been changed. Why do I have to search for the changes on some GitHub pages when I'm here? Why can't you write that here too? Is that part of Emby or not? 1

This project (EmbyCon) is a 3rd party add-on project. It is separate from Emby and managed and maintained by myself. For the last 3 hours I have been testing changes, with the time off from work I have atm I am working on some code hygiene, clean up and adding typing and trying to work out and remember how it all works, its been a while since I had to actually change anything. So with the limited time I have I am trying to get some stuff done and do the things I actually like doing. If someone else wants to pick up the change logs and curate a change log and post it here that would be great. However I don't get any feedback here on this forum on new version or testing from users so I don't expect much. To be honest I dont think there are many people using the addon any more, maybe a few hundred, so I dont expect a lot of feedback here to be honest as most people will not even check the forums unless something has broken and for a very long time now this add-on has been very static with little or no changes.
Teddyknuddel 136 Posted December 28, 2025 Author Posted December 28, 2025 Don't underestimate your own add-on. I think it's much better than NextGen. I'm just always worried that it will get worse instead of better with the updates – and if I can't understand what's being changed, I struggle with myself about whether to carry out the update.
