firren1337 0 Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 Hi everyone. I’m sorry if this has been posted before, I’ve tried searching but haven’t managed to find a solution. I’ve seen that I’m not the only one with issues playing DTS-audio using an lg tv. To solve this issue I wanted to try and automate a script that would transcode a EAC3 audio track along side the original video file if the original file contains only DTS-audio. I was hoping this would be possible using the integrated ffmpeg package in the server, the issue is that I’m awful when it comes to scripting and don’t even know where to start or if it’s event possible. If any of you would be able to point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful. Happy holidays everyone!

I’ve tried with Tdarr and found it to be very powerful but a bit to advanced for the small things I’ve wanted to achieve. It felt like a really advanced solution to a simple problem.
Neminem 1518 Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 You could also use handbreak to do this, but that will not be as automated
Neminem 1518 Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 There is also fileflows, never used it after setting up Tdarr for my needs FileFlows
AndreiP 33 Posted December 25, 2025 Posted December 25, 2025 (edited) I use a very old converter that transform DTS in AC3 to avoid transcoding for my old movies. https://www.videohelp.com/software/PopCorn-MKV-AudioConverter I hope it will help. Edited December 25, 2025 by AndreiP
