Sheild TV Emby does not resume when coming from standby correctly

Hi,

So I have recently moved over to the Android App (not the Android TV one), and have noticed a weird quirk that I wanted to report.

I will grab logs etc shortly (if needed), but quite often we will be watching TV / MOVIE / TV show etc and then just power down the shield TV box, which turns off the TV / speakers etc.

Fyi this sometimes this happens if we have paused a movie and it goes to screensavers (just to point out it's about emby gaining focus again not just returning from standby)

So when we turn the device back on / press ok to turn the screensaver off, it will sometimes go straight to the movie we were watching, on the profile we were in.. but sometimes it shows the movie / TV info in the background, while the foreground has the user profiles listed. However you can't select any profile, the buttons in the background allow you to select parts of the background instead.

Funnily clicking the remotes back button takes me straight to the previous page, without the login overlay.

So it seems like emby is detecting that it should show the login page, which is exactly what I want, but it's not doing it correctly and so allowing people to access what ever profile was already there. Which is not a huge issue / security risk, but it's a weird bug all the same.

Let me know what logs you want (server or client), and I'll try to get a video/picture of it if that helps?

Cheers

HI, yes that would be helpful. Thanks.

Few videos, first one shows that after coming out of emby, when I return it just let's me straight into the normal profile (which has a pin lock)

The second shows what happens when I turn the shield TV off and then back on... Yes this was within a few seconds, but the same happens on longer pauses as well (fyi not been able to recapture the login overlay yet).

Finally, a photo to show that on the app profile settings I have startup behaviour as login screen

Plus one final one - I'm watching live TV on my shield TV, with dvb subs turned on, and the subs are in a weird place. Fyi I have a 4k TV with 1080p TV dvb-s2 stream (via TVheadend).

Hi, you have to be out of the app for at least 10 minutes. If you just leave and quickly come back, it won't force you into the profile login.

Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

Ah cool, thank makes sense. I'm sure ive had it over 10 mins.

Is there any way to change this timer? So that it becomes an option?

Not currently but more options are possible for future updates. Thanks.

I've attached an image of what I saw the other day, this was after my kids had been watching a movie and the film had ended, we had turned the TV off and then a good 30 or 40 minutes later when I turned the TV back on.

When I moved I could select the images of for profiles, whoever pressing back took us straight into their profile, skipping any selection, and if had the film automatically selected.

You should know by now that's simply not true. This issue has existed for years in the "universal" Android app. I finally reported it here 2 months ago, but as usual the Emby devs would rather pretend it doesn't exist and hope people will stop noticing. Nothing was fixed, nothing was acknowledged, and now it's being denied again after someone new has brought it to your attention. At this point it's hard to view this as anything other than intentionally misleading users rather than providing actual support.
