Can’t connect to any servers

Hello,

 

Ive been using Emby for years now, but am completely clueless in all the tech aspects of how it works, so apologies if I’m doing this wrong, I’m just not sure how else to fix it. I haven’t been able to connect to any of the servers for weeks now. On my phone app or on my firestick app. I keep trying different servers and it just tells me that it can’t connect. Any idea on how to solve this?

Yes install your own Quick Start

You server owner might have given you a cold turkey for the Holidays.

Anyways talk to your server provider.

But Emby is ment for Home use and Commercial use is against TOS.

I didn’t understand half of that how do I reach out to my server provider? I just log in and open whatever server works that pops up in my server options, I thought they were all Emby.

Emby provides software, not servers or content.

Whoever has been giving you access to their server is not affiliated with Emby, they are just using software provided by Emby to give you access to their media libraries.

This is how I’ve been using it since 2020, I just login and connect to whatever server pops up. I don’t know anyone personally who’s given me access to their server. So those servers just don’t work anymore? How do I find new ones?

Can you go through your old correspondences and find who originally granted you access? Then you can ask that person for updated information.

I joined emby through a tech Facebook page recommended by a friend. I just tried to go back through my messages with the tech person as she helped walk me through some of it, but it looks like her page is gone. I went back through my emails and found some confirming my account when I first joined back in 2020. I have the server names, but I don’t know how I’d reach out to the person running them, how would I go about that? There’s some links in the email but they don’t work.

Just create your own server. It is easy and usually pretty fast. 
I never connect to other's servers and I do not share my server.
BTW: It is against Emby's TOS to share with people you don't know or are not family. It is also against the TOS to sell server access and accounts that violate that get terminated.

oh great yeah no, I’ve been using it consistently for the past 5 years now it just stopped working a couple weeks ago. But no, I’m not paying them directly, I just pay for emby. Well this has helped illuminate some of the mystery behind this app I don’t know how I got connected with the servers to begin with though, it was all done through some tech person on a Facebook page. She must’ve just gotten a new profile within the past year or so cause I’ve reached out to her for help through the years with this app. Now our past conversations are gone. Well I’ll probably go ahead and cancel then, as the purpose of it was for the vast library of media that they offered, not just to house my own. I appreciate everyone’s help!
